Grief Beyond Belief

William Thomas Robbins

William Thomas “Bill” Robbins, age 69, of Bear, DE, passed away suddenly at home Tuesday, October 6, 2015. Bill proudly served 9 tours of duty in Vietnam in the US Navy. He was an All American State Commander of the VFW and past Post Commander at the Atterbury VFW. Bill was the type of person who made every stranger he met a friend. He loved having people laugh with him at his comedic antics. Bill enjoyed golfing, watching western movies, and cheering for the Eagles and Phillies. Most of all he cherished all the times he spent with his beloved family. Thanksgiving was one of his favorite times to spend with them.
Bill is survived by his wife of 27 years, Patty Robbins; brother, Ralph Robbins; 2 sons, Bill T. Robbins II (Suzy) and Lewis B. Robbins (Liz); 2 daughters, Dawn Clerval (Ed) and Leanne Robbins; 7 grandchildren: Bill III, Sean, Barbara, Robert, Michelle (TJ), Kyle, and Julia; and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maude Martine.
A visitation will be held Monday, October 12, 2015 from 6-8 PM and again on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 9:30-11:00 AM in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 followed by a service in celebration of Bill’s life at 11 AM.
